Trevor Addison LRAM was born in England and studied the violin and composition at The Royal Academy of Music in London. While leading an active career as a professional violinist, Trevor taught the violin and coached string ensembles at The Centre for Young Musicians, London’s premier music school. He was also conductor and founding member of the Kensington and Chelsea Youth Orchestra.
After moving to Sydney in 2004, Trevor took the position of ‘Acting Head of Strings’ at Sydney Grammar School and later, ‘Coordinator of Strings’ at Shore School, North Sydney. Trevor also coached string ensembles and conducted both the Junior and Senior String Orchestras for the Saturday Music School at the Sydney Conservatorium, where many of his original compositions were written and performed. In 2012 he was appointed ‘Head of Strings’ at The King’s School, Parramatta, where he oversees a thriving and vibrant string department.
